Former Lets Move! Deputy Director Joins CCC

September 12, 2016

The Corporate Citizenship Center (CCC) is thrilled to welcome a new member to our team. Elyse Cohen joins us today as the Director of our Health and Wellness Program and the Executive Director of our Health Means Business (HMB) campaign. In this role, she will work with CCC’s business supporters to help create healthier communities around the world.

Previously, Elyse served as the Deputy Director of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative. In this role she served as a strategic advisor, conceptualizing and implementing the campaign’s priority initiatives, collaborating with high-level stakeholders in the private sector, government, foundation, and advocacy community. You can read her full bio here.

In her role with the HMB campaign, she’ll oversee the campaigns strategic priorities and execution. The campaign is a partnership between the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to foster business engagement in the wellness of our nation’s communities. Read the recent coverage of the campaign in USA Today.

Elyse’s previous work fostering a local and national dialogue with the Lets Move! Initiative makes her well-suited to lead the HMB campaign. The campaign’s goals are to create an enlightened national discussion which engages small, medium, and large businesses about the interdependency between health and economic empowerment, and to promote a culture of health in the United States. The campaign is in full swing in the coming months, with our fall forums, the nomination period for the Healthy 10 Awards, and the Champions Network, all leading up to our 2017 National Summit in Washington, DC.

At the Corporate Citizenship Center, we work with the private sector and communities to tackle some of the most pressing issues our society faces. From disaster response, to workforce development, we understand that no one sector can solve the challenges we face alone. Elyse’s experience working with partners across sectors makes her a phenomenal addition to our team.
